Emerald Society Launch Update
By Paul on August 12, 2007 10:44 AM | Comments (1)
The TVP Emerald Society launch was a great success aptly aided by the London Irish Rugby Club mascot 'digger', who went down a treat with both young and old. After the launch members of the Anne Marie Academy of Irish Dancing completed an amazing performance to the rear the white house for entertainment of the public attending the forces open day. The youngest member of the dancing troupe was Molly who was only six years old, in company with her dancing partners she received a rapturous applause from the crowd. Formally Introducing the dancing troupe were members of the Metropolitan Pipe & Drums led by Pipe Major Dominic Murphy .
It's early days, but support from members of the public, police staff, and the police authority attending the open day were very positive. The aim of the Emerald Society is to promote Irish heritage within TVP for the benefit for all persons interested, by focusing on the social aspects of Irish culture, whilst externally promoting the society and Thames Valley Police by building positive links within the community. Picture from the open day soon to follow.....
